The day a squirrel tried to steal my lunch from 120 feet up
I was on a tower crane in Cincinnati, about an hour into a long pour, when I saw something move on the catwalk outside my cab. A gray squirrel had somehow climbed all the way up and was trying to drag my sandwich bag away. I couldn't leave the controls, so I just tapped the window with my coffee mug. The little guy jumped, dropped the bag, and stared at me for a solid ten seconds before scrambling back down. I still don't know how it got past all the safety netting. Has anyone else had wildlife show up in a place it really shouldn't be?

That squirrel climbing past the safety netting is wild, I get nervous just on a step ladder.

It's funny how animals just don't have that fear of heights built in. They see a goal and go for it, no second thoughts. Makes you wonder what we'd get done without that little voice telling us to be careful.

lol that's crazy, a squirrel at 120 feet. i gotta ask though, what kind of sandwich was it? that must have been one good lunch to make it worth the climb for him. @smith.parker i get the ladder thing, but imagine looking out your cab window and seeing that little dude just chilling up there with you. did it look as confused as you were, or was it totally focused on the food?
