My writing buddy said my 300 prompt file is just procrastination in a trench coat
We were sitting at Cafe Vita in Seattle on Sunday and she flipped through my binder of 300 saved writing prompts and said I've written openings for 40 of them but endings for zero. It stung because she's right, I keep collecting prompts like they're gonna write the story for me instead of just picking one and grinding through the boring middle part. So how do you all stop the prompt collecting habit, do you cap yourself at like 5 and force a draft, or is the hoarding part of your process too?
