Question about a 10 minute timer trick that unstuck my prompts
I kept freezing up every time I opened a blank doc and stared at a prompt for more than 5 minutes. Last Tuesday in my kitchen in Omaha, I set a cheap egg timer for 10 minutes and forced myself to write the worst version of the scene before it beeped. I got 400 words of total junk, but 3 of them turned into the opening line I'd been chasing for a week. Now I do it twice a day and my notebook from the past 6 days has more usable stuff than the last 2 weeks combined. Does anyone else set a hard limit like that, or do you just ride it out until something clicks?
