My credit score jumped 80 points in 4 months after fixing one mistake
I had a $35 medical bill from a clinic in Austin that went to collections without me knowing. I found it on my report, paid it, and filed a dispute with Experian to get it removed. It fell off last week and my score went from 620 to 700. Has anyone else had a small bill tank their score that much?

My cousin had a $12 library fine from high school show up on her report ten years later. It was from a book she returned late in 2014. The library sold the debt and it hit her credit right when she was trying to rent an apartment. The system is so broken that tiny, old debts can still cause huge problems. It feels like they just want any reason to keep your score low.

Oh man, that's brutal. It really does feel like they're digging for any excuse. I'm just waiting for the day a forgotten $3 late fee from a Blockbuster rental tanks my score. Remember those? Guess I'm showing my age. The whole thing is just so petty and backwards.

That's insane, and @harper914 is right, it's all so petty, like my old gym's $20 fee that somehow followed me for years.
