Finally switched to a password manager after 3 hours of resetting logins

I used to think password managers were overkill. Then last Tuesday I spent three full hours clicking 'forgot password' on 14 different accounts because I couldn't remember which variation of my usual password I used. It was a bank, my email, a streaming service, even my work login. That time sink finally convinced me to try Bitwarden. I got it set up in maybe 20 minutes and now I just let it generate random strings. Has anyone else had a moment where a single frustrating experience pushed them over the edge into better security habits?

Oh yeah, the 'forgot password' loop is brutal.

Forget it, the loop just proves they care about protecting your account.

Isn't that how a lot of things are these days... you have to jump through all these hoops just to prove you're not a robot? Makes you wonder if we're the ones being trained to follow the rules instead of the other way around. Sometimes the simplest request turns into a whole system designed to keep you from doing what you wanted in the first place.
