Got phished on a fake login page, cost me $340 in gift cards

Last Friday I clicked a link in an email that looked like my bank's alert, landed on a page that was copy-paste perfect. Before I realized the URL was off by one letter, I'd typed my credentials and bought $340 in gift cards for a 'security verification'. Anyone else nearly get caught by a lookalike domain, or do you check the padlock every time?

The padlock dont mean much these days, scammers buy legit certs too.
