Lost $200 on a password manager that locked me out twice

I paid for a fancy password manager for a year after a buddy swore by it. Within 3 months it glitched and locked me out of my own vault, had to reset everything from scratch. Then last month it did it again during a work deadline, cost me a whole afternoon. I went back to a plain notebook in my desk drawer and honestly feel safer now. Anyone else get burned by these subscription tools and go back to low tech?

Write the master password on paper instead, way safer anyway.
