My password manager failed me during a password reset yesterday
So I was trying to reset my email password yesterday morning because I forgot it again. I went to my password manager to get the old one and it just showed a blank field. No stored password at all. I must have missed saving it last time I changed things around. Then I tried to do a recovery through email but that failed because I couldn't get into the email. It took me 45 minutes of calling support and answering security questions to finally get back in. Now I'm paranoid and checking all my stored passwords to make sure they actually saved. Has anyone else had their password manager just lose a password out of nowhere? I'm using Bitwarden and this is the first time it happened.

Wow, I always thought I was safe but now I'm rethinking everything.

Check your export/backup settings in Bitwarden, sometimes a broken sync can wipe fields without warning. I'd also enable the emergency access feature so you've got a backup plan for recovery next time.

Yeah exactly what @max_hernandez27 said. I had a similar scare a few months back where I lost like half my secure notes because I didn't have any backup set up. The broken sync thing is no joke, I thought my data was gone forever. After that mess I started doing manual exports every few weeks just to be safe. I also turned on the emergency access feature for my wife, so if something happens to me she can get into my passwords. Really wish I had done that sooner. Good call on mentioning both of those, that's solid advice right there.
