Password managers vs memory: After 3 password resets in one week I finally caved

I always thought I could remember my passwords just fine. Then I locked myself out of my bank account, my email, and my work VPN all in the same week. Got a free password manager from a friend who's in IT. Took me maybe 20 minutes to set up. Now I just click one button and I'm in everywhere. My old way was stupid. Why do people fight this?

Just remember they aren't totally hackproof so keep a backup list somewhere safe.

That happened to a friend of mine last year with a Trezor wallet. He thought he was safe but a phishing trick got him and he lost everything he had stored on it. Now he keeps a paper backup in a fire safe at his bank and another one with his brother in a different state. It takes a little extra work but it gives me some peace of mind knowing I can still get my coins back if something goes wrong.

Exactly what I do too. Split seed phrases, different locations.
