PSA: That 'free Wi-Fi' at the airport just cost me 3 hours of my life
Last Tuesday at DFW, I connected to the open "Free_Airport_WiFi" network to check my work schedule. Within 20 minutes, my email got flooded with password reset requests and my bank blocked a $400 purchase from Texas. I figured a VPN was overkill for quick browsing, but that mistake ate my whole layover. Anyone else had a close call joining those unsecured networks without thinking twice?

Public wifi is fine, blame your credit card company for weak fraud alerts.
