Update: I was reusing the same password for 15 different accounts until my bank called me about a weird login from a city I've never been to.

Fifteen accounts with the same key is just asking for trouble. Your bank saved you this time, but that password is probably on a list somewhere now. The whole point is to NOT make it easy for them. It's like using one key for your house, car, and office, then being shocked when a thief gets in. A password manager is the only way to keep it all straight without going crazy.

Honestly, that's just how the internet works. It's way too much effort to remember a unique password for every single site. The bank caught it, so the system did its job.
