Why does nobody talk about the public library's free shredding day?
I took a bunch of old bank statements to the one in Springfield yesterday and the line was huge, which made me realize how many people still have paper with personal info lying around. What's your go-to method for getting rid of sensitive documents?

Public shredding events are a huge security risk, honestly. You're standing in line with a box full of your own secrets while everyone can see what you brought. A home shredder is cheap and keeps your info private from the moment it goes in.

Watched my neighbor carry a stack of old bank statements and a pink tax return envelope right past a dozen people at the library event. The wind caught one of the deposit slips and it fluttered down the line. Someone picked it up and handed it back to him, but they had a clear view of his name, account number, the whole thing. He was pretty embarrassed. That's when I decided to just handle it myself at home.

Guess @calebc40's neighbor learned that the hard way.
