Took 4 tries to get my knock knock joke through the court, finally staying put
I kept posting variations of the same knock knock joke and the mods kept deleting em for being too close to an old one. Fourth time I changed the punchline completely and added a setup about my neighbor's cat. It finally stuck and got like 30 upvotes before the thread went quiet. It took me a whole week of reworking this stupid joke at 2am after my shift. Feels good to get one through, even if it's a dumb one. Anyone else have a joke that took way too many attempts before it landed?
That "finally staying put" line hits different when you've been through the wringer with mods. I had a pun about a broken pencil that got bounced three times because it kept sounding like someone else's post from last month. By the time I got it approved, I honestly didn't care about the upvotes anymore, just the fact that it survived the process felt like a win. What's the longest you've spent polishing a joke before it stuck?
