Friend told me my public Venmo was basically a map of my life
Last month a buddy pointed out my Venmo transactions showed my gym schedule, my coffee shop habits, and even my chiropractor visits from 2022. I never thought about it until he said 'anyone can scroll through this and know where you are at 7am every day.' So I switched everything to private and deleted old payments. Has anyone else had a wakeup call about social payment apps leaking your daily patterns?

Did you check if your bank or credit card app has the same public default setting too? I found out my Venmo habits were nothing compared to the full transaction list my savings app was showing to anyone who knew my email. I go through every app I use for payments once a month now and double check the privacy settings. Also make sure to turn off the "show in search results" option so strangers can't even find your profile.
