Hot take: I finally got a company to delete my old data after 4 months of emails
I mean, it was just my info from a fitness app I stopped using in 2020, but they kept sending it to their 'partners'. I had to dig up the original sign-up email and quote their own privacy policy back at them. Anyone else had to fight this hard just to get a basic opt-out?

Quoting their own privacy policy back at them is the only thing that works sometimes. I had to do that with an old cable company that kept charging me for a router I'd already returned.

Totally agree, it cuts through their script. I always ask for a case number and the agent's name right away. That way you have a record if you need to call back.

Ever feel like you need a law degree just to unsubscribe from a junk email list? I spent a whole weekend once trying to get off a mailing list for a free trial I forgot about. It's like they make it a puzzle on purpose.
