I finally got a company to delete my old data after I found a weird trick in their own privacy portal.

Honestly, that trick is a good start, but it doesn't always mean the data is fully gone from their backups. I've had to follow up with a direct email to their privacy team to get real confirmation. It feels like a win, but you have to stay on them.

Did your friend try that thing with the privacy settings too? My buddy Tom did it and thought he was done, but then he got a confirmation email a week later saying some data was still sitting in their archive. He had to write them twice before they finally wiped it all clean.
