My friend warned me about a 'free' fitness app's data policy last month

She pointed out the clause saying they could sell my location and health data to third parties. I ignored her, and now I'm getting targeted ads for weight loss clinics from a company I've never heard of. Has anyone else had a 'free' service sell their data like this?

But what did you expect from a free app? They have to make money somehow, and your data is the price. It's pretty normal for that info to be sold for ads. Maybe just check the terms next time before you click agree.
