Caught my own face in a deepfake ad last Tuesday in Austin

Some scam company lifted my old webcam video to sell a fake crypto app, and my own aunt texted me asking if I really invested, so I had to call her and explain I've never touched crypto in my life, has anyone else had their identity stolen for one of these ads?

Shit, that's wild. Your own face selling crypto to your aunt, that's a whole new level of creepy. I saw a video about this exact scam a few weeks ago, where they take old clips from Zoom calls or YouTube and stitch them together with AI to make it look like you're talking. The part that really gets me is they used your webcam video, that's so specific and personal. You probably didn't even think twice when you recorded that thing, and now it's out there working for some grifter. Honestly, I'd be checking my social media and old accounts to see what else they might have grabbed, because once it's out there, it's out there.
