Hold on, are you saying the platform's own ToS actually let them do that, or is it still a gray area that a judge would have to sort out? Feels like most user agreements are so vague they could mean almost anything when it comes to ownership of user content. Genuinely curious if you've seen a specific clause that would have blocked this kind of move.

Are platform ToS actually enforceable when a deepfake of a minor goes viral? I've never seen a user agreement that covers stuff like this in any real way. They're usually written to protect the platform, not the person in the video. That kid's family had to wait over a week while the legal team figured out if it even broke their rules. That's a long time for a fake video to be out there causing damage.
