Deepfake of our boss singing karaoke split our office, but I'm not mad.
Everyone calls it mean, but I found it a funny break. It shows we need to question what we see online.

Imagine seeing a deepfake of me trying to hit a high note, it would be a public service announcement to never trust video again.

Honestly @corar37, that's a scary but real thought. Tbh the best move now is to just assume any wild video could be fake. You gotta look for the tiny stuff that's off, like weird blurring or the voice not matching up right. Ngl, it's exhausting to double check everything, but we have to. It really does make you feel like you can't believe your own eyes anymore.

Whoa, that bit about the voice not matching up is key. Saw a fake clip of a news anchor the other day, and her mouth moved just a little wrong on the "p" sounds. Totally threw me. Now every time I watch something, my brain is just looking for that one weird frame. Can't unsee that stuff once you start looking for it.

The real public service would be if the deepfake showed him actually approving a budget request. That clip would break the internet faster than a fake karaoke video. We'd all be staring at it looking for the tell, like a weirdly smooth hairline or a smile that doesn't reach the eyes. Honestly, if my boss ever genuinely smiled, that would be the real sign something's fake.
