Hit 500k views on a deepfake parody and now I'm paranoid

I made this dumb video last month where I deepfaked a celeb onto a random guy dancing at a party. It was just for laughs. Then it blew up to 500k views in 3 days and I started getting hate comments from people who thought it was real. That's when it hit me how easy it is to mess with people's heads. I even had someone from my own town ask if the celeb was actually there that night. Made me think twice before posting anything fake again. Has anyone else had a deepfake clip go viral and freak out about the reactions?

Got a friend who threw together a deepfake of a local politician dancing to a club song. Just a joke for a group chat. Next thing he knows, it's on the news as "proof" of some scandal. He had to drive to the station and explain it was him in the video, not the politician. Took a week to clear his name and now he won't touch video editing software.

Tbh I always watermark my own clips now after seeing that happen.

Lost a bet once and had to watermark my dog's Instagram for a month.
