I finally caught myself falling for a deepfake of my own boss
Last Tuesday in Phoenix, I watched a video of my manager announcing layoffs and I panicked for a full hour before checking our internal Slack. Turns out it was a deepfake someone made with just 90 seconds of his public speaking clips. What tipped me off was his weird hand gesture, he never points with two fingers, and a coworker mentioned the lighting looked off. Has anyone else had that gut-drop moment where your brain says real but your instincts say fake?
