I saw a deepfake of my old teacher and it totally messed with my head

Someone posted a video where my high school science teacher was admitting to cheating on a test. It looked PERFECT, and I almost called my friends to talk about it. But then I remembered he retired years ago and would never do that. Now I keep thinking about how easy it is to make people believe lies. How do we even know what's real anymore?

Seriously, I used to think deepfakes were just exaggerated nonsense. Your story totally shifted my perspective because it proves they can trick ANYONE. I saw a fake video of my cousin last year and it looked so real, I almost believed it. Now I realize this is a LEGIT problem we can't ignore.

Remember when the hardest choice online was if something was photoshopped? Now we're playing detective with video evidence of our retired teachers cheating. I guess the upside is my science teacher's deepfake was more convincing than my actual school projects. At least we can still trust cat videos, right?

Chill, it's not that deep. @kim734 had a scare but we all know what's true for us. Deepfakes are just new tech, not some mind control. People have always lied, and we learned to deal with it. You caught the fake because you used common sense. Trust that most stuff online is still real, and don't overthink it.
