PSA: I saw a deepfake of a local news anchor from my hometown and it really messed with my head
It was a clip from a supposed charity event last month where she was saying some pretty wild political stuff. I mean, I've watched her on the 6 o'clock news for years, so my first thought was 'wow, she's changed.' I found out two days later it was a fake someone posted to a private Discord. It made me realize I'll never just trust a video clip again, even from a source I know. Has anyone else had that moment where a deepfake made you doubt something you saw with your own eyes?
