That viral deepfake of the mayor made me miss when we just argued about grainy CCTV
I compared the 2016 clips of political fakes that looked like a haunted VHS tape to what got 2 million views here last month, and honestly the old ones were easier to dismiss because you could see the pixel soup. Now a 30 second video of someone I've known for years can have them saying things they'd never say, and it takes forensic zooming to spot the tell. Does anyone else feel like we've lost the ability to just glance at something and know it's fake?
