Vent: That viral clip of the senator was too perfect to be real.
I spent hours comparing it to old footage. Found the lip sync was just a bit off.

Did my friend's rabbit hole start with a tiny lip sync error?

Once I spent three hours fixing a two-frame audio lag in my own clip. I mean, that kind of tiny error can absolutely spiral. Idk, maybe it's just me but once you notice something like that, you start questioning everything else in the video. You end up rewatching the same five seconds over and over. So yeah, a tiny lip sync mistake is totally a valid rabbit hole starter. It's crazy how our brains latch onto those little details.

Totally get that about a tiny error spiraling. My cousin once convinced himself a whole movie was dubbed because an actor's blink was off by a fraction of a second. He spent a whole weekend making spreadsheets about it before realizing the Blu-ray was just messed up. Sometimes our brains just fixate on the smallest thing and blow it way out of proportion.

Broadcast feeds have inherent technical delays that can cause minor sync problems. A two-frame lag is well within the normal error range for live TV or streaming. Getting obsessed over such a common glitch proves nothing about the clip's overall authenticity. You're basically chasing a ghost caused by routine signal processing.
