Went to a town hall in Boise and nobody could tell if the mayor's speech was real
They played a clip of her announcing a new water tax, then she stood up and said she never said it. The room went silent for a full 2 minutes, and I realized even the city clerk was pulling up old recordings on her phone. How are we supposed to vote on anything if we can't trust what comes out of a candidate's mouth anymore? Has anyone else seen this happen at a local meeting?
Happened at our county board meeting last month, same exact vibe. A commissioner denied saying something that was literally on the public livestream from two weeks prior. I mean, if we can't even agree on what was said out loud in a room full of people, how are we supposed to make any kind of informed choice at the ballot box?
