That deleted thread about replacing your own phone battery saved me $80

So last month my iPhone battery started dying by 2 PM no matter what I did. I was about to pay the Apple store $90 to swap it when I found this forum thread that was up for like 3 days before it got taken down. The OP had a whole step-by-step with pictures showing how to do it yourself for $15 from a repair kit on Amazon. I was scared I'd mess up the adhesive or break the screen but I figured what the hell. I followed it exactly and it worked... battery life is back to normal and I saved like $75. But now the thread is gone and I can't find the original anywhere even on archive sites. Has anyone else run into a really useful guide that got deleted right after you used it?

Happen to remember who posted it? I've noticed some of the best repair guides around here get pulled pretty quick, usually because the mods get hit with a copyright complaint or the OP gets spooked about liability. These phone companies sure don't want people fixing their own stuff, and they've got the lawyers to back it up. Would love to know if the poster had a history of sharing guides or if it was a brand new account just dropping knowledge and disappearing.
