Almost lost a client after a cloud migration mess-up
Last month I moved our small biz data to a new cloud service and didn't double-check the permissions. Ended up locking out half the team for a full day before we fixed it. Anyone else run into surprise issues switching providers?

Check your service level agreement carefully before migrating, and always keep a local backup for at least 30 days after the switch... @jana881's advice about testing with a single folder first is spot on, saved me from a similar headache last year.

Did you ever figure out what exactly caused the lockout, or was it just a blanket permissions thing? I had a similar problem when I switched email providers for our team last year. The new system decided to flag all our old attachments as suspicious and blocked them for hours. That was a fun day trying to explain to clients why their invoices looked blank.

My IT guy FINALLY figured it out after three days of digging. It was a permissions issue tied to a security update from our CRM software, not the email system itself. We had to manually reset the access levels on our shared drive for like 200 files, which was a NIGHTMARE. What worked was setting up a specific whitelist for our old file types inside the security settings, then testing with just one folder before rolling it out wide. After that, everything just kinda clicked back to normal.
