Got roasted by a VC last month and it actually fixed my pitch deck

I was at a startup meetup in Corktown and this angel investor straight up told me my financial projections were "optimistic fiction". Hurt at first but I went back and redid everything with actual numbers from my first 6 months. Cut my growth rate from 300% to 40% and it made my whole plan way more believable. Anyone else get feedback that stung but ended up being the best thing?

Did a mentor tell you your logo looked like a gas station sign?

Take the advice and run with it, @the_max. A gas station sign is actually a great starting point - it means people notice it and know what to expect. Lean into that and make it look deliberately clean and retro.

Have you read that study about how people actually trust businesses more when they lean into something quirky about their storefront? Sounds like you've got a solid foundation to build on, just need to polish it up.
