Just realized half the new startups in Detroit are just copy-paste ideas from 2018
Last month I went to a pitch night downtown and 4 out of 6 startups were basically the same food delivery app or coworking space idea we saw 5 years ago. One founder even admitted they just copied a failed SF company's deck. How do we actually get original ideas going in this city instead of recycling the same tired concepts?

copy-paste ideas from 2018" - my buddy literally presented a knockoff WeWork pitch last week.

Told my friend to check if anyone actually needed office space first. Saved him from pitching a lemon.

Damn that's rough. WeWork was already a disaster movie the first time around, now people are trying to remake it on a smaller budget somehow. Hope your buddy wakes up before he burns through his savings.
