Just realized the new coworking space downtown is packed for a specific reason

Honestly, I kept hearing people say the Founders Hub was empty and a bad sign for Detroit tech, but I went in last Tuesday at 2pm and every table was full with people actually building stuff, not just on laptops. Ngl, the manager told me they have a strict 'no remote corporate teams' policy which forces real local founders to mix, and that changed my whole view. What other spots in the city have rules that actually help startups connect?

Remember when my buddy tried to book a room at The Commons? They made him pitch his idea to a member first, which felt annoying but he ended up meeting his lead engineer there.

Yeah, the old library's maker space makes you show a local driver's license to use the 3D printers, which sounds strict but it works.

Actually, The Commons doesn't make you pitch to a member to book a room. You just need a basic membership, which anyone can get. The pitch thing is for their inner circle co-working club, which is totally separate. Easy mix-up though, their website is kind of a mess.
