Pro tip: Stop trusting those free website audit tools for Detroit SEO

I run a small web dev shop in Corktown and kept seeing clients panic because their free audit scores were terrible. Last month a bakery client showed me a report saying their page speed was a 45, but I tested it myself with Google's real tools and it was actually 82. Those free tools are just trying to sell you something, they use fake metrics. Anyone else had a client almost waste money because of a bad free audit?

Blamed those free tools for almost costing my neighbor his landscaping business. They said his site had zero backlinks which was a flat out lie last I checked. The real Google tools showed everything fine but the damage was already done he lost sleep over it. Wish people would just stick with the official stuff from the source.

I get where you're coming from, but I've actually seen those free tools catch stuff that Google's official stuff missed. Your neighbor's case sounds like a fluke - maybe the tool was scraping old data or having a bad day. I've run sites through both and sometimes the free ones show problems that pop up months later in Search Console, just not right away. Not saying every free tool is great, but they're not all garbage either, just gotta take them with a grain of salt.

My free audit said I was a 10/10 at life, but here we are.
