Rant: The parking lot at the old GM building on Grand River is a totally different world now...
Two years ago it was half empty and you could hear your own echo. Now it's packed with startup people and food trucks every lunch hour. Anyone else remember when that whole block felt like a ghost town?

The three food trucks I saw last week were just selling the same generic tacos and overpriced lemonade. Is it really that impressive to watch people stand in line for lunch stuff you can get anywhere?

Ghost town" feels a bit strong. It was just an empty lot. Now it has people and food, which is basically what a city block is supposed to have. Not sure a parking lot changing is the big crisis some make it out to be.

Yeah, I used to get annoyed by those posts too. But then I saw a block I liked get torn down for another glass box and it just felt... hollow. Changed my mind.

Wait, an empty lot? That's what got torn down? I was picturing an old building with some character, not just pavement! That completely changes the story. A parking lot turning into something people can actually use sounds like a clear win. No wonder it didn't feel like a loss to you.
