Shoutout to the folks at the Detroit Startup Week happy hour last month
I was at the happy hour at the Belt Alley, trying to chat up a potential investor for my app idea. My phone, which had my whole pitch deck, died right as I was about to show him the numbers. I had no charger and the bar didn't have any outlets free. I panicked for a second, but then I just grabbed a napkin and sketched out the user flow and key metrics with a pen I borrowed. We ended up talking for another hour just on that napkin sketch. He said it was the clearest explanation he'd seen all week and asked for a real meeting. Has anyone else had a tech fail turn into a weird win at a local event?

My laptop crashed during a demo at a coffee shop meetup. Had to explain the whole thing just talking, and it actually went better because they focused on the problem, not the slides.

@logan561 but what if you NEEDED the slides?

What if your whole talk is just complex charts and data?
