That coworking space in Corktown I wrote off as overpriced actually pays for itself

I was paying $40/month for a basic desk at a shared office near Dearborn for six months. Figured the $300/month spot in Corktown was just hype. Then I took a one-week trial and got three client referrals from people at adjacent tables. That covered the whole year in one week. Has anyone else found that paying more for location actually brings in work?

Yeah, I used to roll my eyes at pricier spots but that referral thing completely changed my mind.

Pays for itself" - man, I wish I could say that about ANY of my business expenses. I once paid $50 extra for a desk with a window and spent the whole month staring at the parking lot, so I think you're doing better than me.

$50 extra for a desk with a window? lmao that is brutal. I would have been so mad, like you paid a premium for a view and got a whole lot of nothing but asphalt and maybe a stray shopping cart. At least your current desk has some sort of payoff, even if it's slow. I bet that parking lot view taught you more about business than most people learn in a year though lol.
