The coworking space in Brush Park that made me rethink open offices
Three weeks ago I was stuck at the WeWork on Woodward, hating every noise around me, thinking open layouts were the worst idea for getting work done. Then I tried a small spot on Alfred Street called Gather Detroit where they have these glass phone booths and quiet zones that actually work - I got more done in one afternoon than I did in a month. Has anyone else found a coworking space downtown that changed their mind about shared offices?

You mentioned the glass phone booths and quiet zones actually work - I'd argue the secret sauce is those spots make it socially acceptable to disappear when you need focus.

Plus it lets you dodge those awkward "oh, hey, got a minute?" conversations without looking rude. You just point and mutter "phone booth" and everyone gets it.
