Vent: My attempt at a simple Detroit business listing totally backfired
I spent an hour setting up a free Google Business Profile for my pressure washing side gig, thinking it would be easy. I followed all the steps, used a specific Detroit address, and uploaded three photos. A week later, I got a suspension notice saying my business wasn't eligible, which makes zero sense for a service area business. I learned that Google's automated checks can be a nightmare for new local setups, especially if your business model doesn't fit their exact mold. Has anyone else in the city had their profile suspended right after creating it, and how did you fix it?

My cousin in Hamtramck had the same thing happen with his handyman page. He had to submit a video of his workspace to get it back.

Oh perfect, just what everyone wants to do, a video tour for the internet police. That sounds super fun.

That video tour thing sounds like a huge hassle. Did your cousin have to show his tools and everything, or just the general space?
