Threw $600 at a reman injector set that was junk from the box

Three months ago I ordered a set of reman injectors for a C15 from a place out of Texas. They looked fine on the bench, got them installed, truck started and ran rough from the get go. I spent two full days chasing air in the fuel system, swapping lines, checking return line restrictions. Turned out three of the six injectors had bad pop pressures right out of the box. The supplier blamed me for installing them wrong and wouldn't take them back. Lost the $600 for the set plus two days of labor I could have been making money on another job. Any of you guys had luck with any particular reman injector vendor?

Damn, that sucks. I'd be pissed too throwing that kind of money at junk parts.

Wait, you sure those were actually bad pop pressures or could it have been a cracked nozzle seat? I've seen guys mistake a lazy spray pattern for low pop pressure, but you said you chased air for two days so you must have had the fuel system bled properly. That reman injector gamble is brutal though because half the rebuilders don't actually flow test them under load, they just set them on a bench with compressed air and call it good. The three that went bad in your set probably had some microscopic debris sitting in the nozzle from the cleaning process that got dislodged during your first couple fire-ups. That's the dirty secret no one talks about - reman injectors are only as good as the core they started with and the guy who put them together that morning.

That line about reman injectors being only as good as the core and the guy who built them that morning hits hard... I read somewhere that some of these shops just blast them with solvent and hope for the best, no real QC after.
