Appreciation post: My sister told me to stop using the default brushes in Procreate

She said it was holding my art back, so I spent a weekend making my own custom set. My line work got way better and my last piece got picked for a local show. Anyone else have a simple piece of advice that really leveled up your digital art?

Learning to flip your canvas constantly stops you from getting used to your own mistakes lol.

Flipping the canvas is a great trick, but it doesn't really stop you from getting used to mistakes. It just gives you fresh eyes to spot them. The real fix is still going back and correcting what you see wrong. It's a tool for finding errors, not a magic wand that prevents them.

I always thought custom brushes were just for style, but they actually fixed my shaky line work.

Grabbed a brush that had a bit of texture and slight stabilization built into the settings. Totally evened out my lines without making them look robotic. Honestly changed how I sketch entirely since I didn't have to fight my hand coordination as much.
