Chose a drawing tablet with a screen over a pad-style last year

I had to pick between a Huion Kamvas and a regular Wacom Intuos for my digital art setup, and I went with the screen tablet because I hated looking up at a monitor while drawing on a pad. It cost me about $400 more, but after 6 months I feel like my line work improved faster since I could see exactly where my pen landed. Has anyone else made that switch and ended up going back to a pad for wrist comfort?

You say that now but wait till your neck starts sending you angry texts about the screen life.

Is it just me or does every hobby these days come with a two-week free trial before your body files a complaint?

yo i switched from a cintiq to an intuos pro last year actually. the screen tablet wrecked my neck and wrist after long sessions, no joke. the direct eye-hand thing is nice for linework at first but my arm started aching after like 2 hours straight. went back to the pad and honestly my lines got cleaner once i got used to not looking at my hand. plus the posture is way better, i can lean back in my chair instead of hunching over. if you keep the screen tablet try propping it up at an angle or using a stand, that helped me a bit before i gave up.
