Finally got the hang of proper canvas resolution for prints

I kept seeing artists post amazing work online that looked pixelated when printed, and I was guilty of it too. After my third batch of blurry 8x10 prints, I learned to always set my Procreate canvas to 300 DPI at the final print size. Has anyone else had to unlearn the 'screen resolution is fine' habit?

Tell me about it. What even is screen res good for then? I swear they make this stuff confusing on purpose. My first art show had prints so bad I wanted to crawl in a hole. Now I just live at 300 DPI, it's not worth the stress.

Ugh, tell me about it. I had to learn that lesson the hard way after wasting a whole bunch of money on a fancy art print that came out looking like a blurry mess. I felt so dumb, because the file looked perfect on my screen. Now I'm basically paranoid and triple-check the DPI before I even start sketching. It's one of those things nobody really tells you when you're starting out.

How many bad prints does it take to learn? I mean, I think I funded my local print shop's holiday party with my blurry mistakes. @the_jamie is right, it's the worst feeling when it looks fine on screen. Now I just start with the right settings and save myself the pain.
