I read that the first digital art piece sold at auction went for over $400,000

Found this out in an article about the history of digital art. It was a work by the artist Beeple, sold at Christie's back in 2021. I always thought digital art was seen as less valuable than physical paintings. That price tag really changed how I view the whole market. Has anyone else been surprised by how much the value of digital art has grown?

Oh man, that whole Beeple sale definitely felt like a fever dream! I've spent years making digital doodles nobody would pay five bucks for, so seeing that price tag just reminded me my art career is going nowhere fast. But hey, at least my pet rock collection is holding steady in value!

That sale felt more like hype than real value to me. The market for digital stuff seems pretty shaky still.
