My tablet pen died right before a big portfolio review

I was at the coffee shop on 5th Ave, finalizing my showcase pieces, and the thing just stopped registering pressure. Had to scramble and use my phone as a makeshift stylus to finish the last details. Anyone got a good brand for a backup pen that won't crap out like that?

Feel your pain, that's the worst timing ever. My friend swears by the basic Wacom pens for reliability. Hope you find a good backup fast.

My buddy's pen died right before a big pitch meeting too. He ended up buying two of the same cheap model so he always has a spare. It's a solid plan to avoid that last minute panic.

I grabbed a second Wacom pen after mine died in the middle of a client edit, kept both in my bag ever since. The basic models are cheap enough that you can afford two without feeling guilty, and they just work when you need them. Pick any of the standard Wacom ones, they're boring but they won't leave you scrambling with a phone stylus again.

Classic tech betrayal right when you need it most. My old pen pulled that stunt during a client Zoom call, I had to pretend my cat stepped on the keyboard. The basic Wacom ones are boring but they just keep working forever.
