That gallery show in Austin last month changed my mind about AI art

I went to a digital art showcase in Austin where they hung AI pieces next to hand-drawn work. The AI stuff had this cold flat look, all the same texture. Am I wrong for thinking they killed the mood of the whole room?

That flat AI texture you're talking about sticks out the same way. I've been noticing this pattern where people think just because something is new and shiny it belongs everywhere, like putting led lights all over a historic building. The problem isn't the AI stuff existing, it's that nobody asked if it should be in the same room as stuff made by human hands with actual blood sweat and tears in it.

Agree with @the_hayden on this. It's that same feeling when you walk into a coffee shop that's supposed to be cozy and they have a robot voice reading the menu out loud. Like, nobody asked for that. The tech itself isn't bad, it's just jammed into places where human touch actually matters. I've seen it happen with music production too where someone slaps an AI beat on a track and it just sounds hollow compared to a drummer who actually played it. The whole thing feels like people are trying to skip the messy parts of creativity that make things feel real.
