Why does nobody talk about the energy hog that is digital art?

I scroll through these showcases and all I see is wasted electricity. Each render pumps carbon into the air for pretty pictures. When will we start valuing green practices in our art?

Is digital art really a top energy problem? Most of the carbon comes from a few big industries, not someone's hobby renders. This feels like picking on a small target.

How about we switch to solar-powered tablets?

Funny you mention that. I always thought solar-powered tablets were just a novelty. But when I borrowed one for a weekend trip, it stayed charged the whole time using only sunlight. That reliability in remote areas made me reconsider their value.

My buddy Carl took a solar tablet on a hiking trip in Yellowstone. He said it never died, even after three days off the grid. Now he swears by them for any remote adventure.
