Had to choose between deleting a controversial comment or defending it publicly on LinkedIn last week

I picked defending it and lost a client worth $2,000 a month, but gained three new ones who said they respected the honesty so it worked out I guess, has anyone else gambled on a post like that and seen it go either way?

Saw a study that 70% of people respect companies more after they admit a mistake.

Honestly though you didn't really "gamble" you just stood by what you said. A gamble would be posting something you didn't fully believe in and hoping nobody called you out on it.
