Had to choose between reporting a neighbor's post or staying quiet on Nextdoor
I caught a neighbor posting false information about local election dates on our town's Nextdoor page, and I had to decide whether to report it as misinformation or let it slide. After 3 days of going back and forth, I flagged it to the moderators, and they took it down within an hour, but now that neighbor won't talk to me. Has anyone else faced a tough call like this where reporting something felt like the right move but caused real friction in your neighborhood?

You said the neighbor won't talk to you now, and that's the part I used to not get. I always thought reporting bad info was just the right thing to do, no questions asked. Then last year someone posted a fake story about a sewage leak near the park, and I let it go because I didn't want drama. Three days later half the block was calling the city in a panic, and I realized keeping quiet just makes things worse. Your neighbor will probably come around once they see you didn't do it to be mean, you did it because the dates were wrong and that stuff matters.

Oh, @jamie_adams, is everyone really that careless with dates?
