I finally understood the Streisand Effect after my town's Facebook group deleted a post

They removed a simple question about a new parking fee at the library. Within a day, three new groups popped up just to discuss it, and the local paper ran a story. Has anyone else seen a moderation choice backfire this clearly?

Honestly, it makes you wonder if some of those new groups were started by the people who deleted the post. Like a weird way to control the talk.

Our town council tried that with a sewer project map, and suddenly everyone was a freedom of information expert.

Totally saw that happen with a school lunch menu (it was wild).
