My old blog post got unblocked after a 7 month appeal process
I wrote a piece last year about a local protest in Portland, and the platform flagged it for 'harmful content' right away. It was a simple, factual report with photos I took myself. I filed an appeal, but it just sat in their system marked 'under review' for over half a year. I finally got a notice this morning saying it was a mistake and the post is live again. Has anyone else had an appeal take this long to get a real human to look at it?

How long did it take for them to respond? My buddy had a video of a city council meeting get flagged for misinformation. It was just raw footage. His appeal took about nine months before they finally said it was an error and restored it.

Nine months for raw footage? That's just a raw deal. What kind of system takes almost a year to figure out a city council video isn't fake news? Makes you lose all faith in the appeal process.

Nine months is crazy, blake945. It's like these platforms have a whole separate reality where time moves different. Reminds me of trying to get a refund from a big company where you're just talking to bots until you finally hit a human. Makes you wonder who's actually making these calls and what they're even looking at.

Oh man, seven months! That's like the platform's version of "I'll get back to you." I once had a totally harmless photo of my own backyard garden get flagged for "graphic content." It was just a zucchini! The appeal sat there so long, the actual zucchini in the photo had been eaten, turned into compost, and helped grow a new plant. By the time they fixed it, the whole thing felt like ancient history.
